1st February 2020 - Chinese New Year Celebration (for One Big Happy Family)
On the 1st of February, Miri City Medical Centre organised its in-house Chinese New Year Celebration for all staff. There were ceremonious tossing of Yee-Sang and cake-cutting to symbolise good luck and prosperity for the medical centre and all its staff members. We love to keep everyone happy and this year we passed around a huge lucky draw box containing lots of Ang Pao packets of varying value with the highest containing RM100. Dr. Tarek was lucky enough to draw the winning Ang Pao but the money went into his wife's handbag for safe-keeping.

Still basking in the festive season of Chinese New Year, Miri City Medical Centre epitomised the celebration with a Lion Dance event which symbolises the start of another good year ahead. Having said that, nothing could stop our extremely excited CEO, Dr. Lee Joon Lung from jumping into the middle of the dance routine to capture a photograph with the lions.
We at MCMC, pray for the good health of all our patients and their family as we hope to serve them better.
26th January 2020 - A visit from the former Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak.
On the 26th of January, our Hospital Director Dr. Lee Joon Lung was graced with a pleasant but unexpected visit during Chinese New Year celebration at Kuching. It was from a truly renowned and respected figure in the Governance of Sarawak and that person was none other than Yang Amat Berbahagia Tun Pehin Sri Datuk Patinggi Abang Muhammad Salahuddin Bin Abang Barieng, the former Yang di-Pertua Negeri (Governor) Sarawak who had looked after the welfare and modernisation of the State between 1977 to 1981. We thank him for the visit and wish him good health for many more years to come.
11th January 2020 - 18th Annual Dinner
On 11th January 2020, Miri City Medical Centre started off the new year with a bang by celebrating our 18th Annual Dinner at the Grand Palace Hotel. The theme this year was Cowboys and the grand ballroom was filled with 17 tables all fully sponsored by the medical centre as a symbol of appreciation to all its' staff for the hard work they have put in over the years.
We have also officially launched our new hospital website as one of the main events. We believe that a brand new year calls for a brand new look and 2020 is a great year for us to finally start making a significant internet presence. We will actively connect to the public through our official website and Facebook page as we hope to improve ourselves and become more relevant in the ever-changing landscape of healthcare.
